July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29- Sunset & City Lights Cruise- Sandpiper Boat. Every Sunday evening from June through September 16th. This is a breathtaking experience! Cruise up the Maumee River and view stately homes, yacht clubs and wildlife. Catch a sunset around Walbridge Park & return to downtown after dark and experience the city lights shimmering on the water. Snacks included. June - August 12, 8:00pm till 10:00pm. July 4- Independence Day, 1813- Fort Meigs State Memorial. July 4, 1813 was celebrated with canon firings, toasts, music, and a day of leisure at Fort Meigs. War of 1812 soldiers and civilians will recreate this day through canon firings, demonstrations, and hands-on activities for children. The highlight of the day is the eighteen-gun National Salute accompanied by toasts and fife and drum music starting at 2:00 pm. July 4- Toledo Blade's Red, White & Kaboom Fireworks. This one day celebration features music, food, and activities for all ages, and a $50,000 fireworks show. Activities begin at noon in Promenade Park. 12:00pm till 11:00pm, Promenade and Festival Parks., Water Street, Toledo, Oh 43604.

July 6, 13,20,27- Birds of Woodlawn. Every Friday until Oct 05, 8:30 am till 10:30 am. Join us each week as we document the Birds of Woodlawn. From migrating to nesting birds, we will explore the many natural habitats of Woodlawn. From beginners to experienced birders, all are welcome. July 7, 8- Toledo Lighthouse Waterfront Festival, Maumee Bay State Park. Saturday 10:00am till 8:00pm, Sunday 10:00am till 5:00pm. Island music, fireworks,sand castles, food, boat rides around the lighthouse, nautical arts and crafts, childrens activities, lighthouse photo contest, silent auction, and more are part of the weekend fun. July 13-15- Lagrange Street Polish Festival. Toledo's Polish Village celebrates it's heritage and showcases its central business district with the city's largest street festival- attracting over 25,000 visitors last year. The festival features the finest polka bands from across the Midwest, a variety of Polish food, plenty of beer, soft drinks, bottled water, a polka dance contest on Sunday at 5 pm, a pierogi eating contest on Saturday at 6pm, a children's area with rides and games, and arts and craft vendors from across the region. Admission is $4, Golden Buckeye is $3, $3 on Sunday, and children under 8 are free. Directions: I-75 to Toledo, Exit #207 to Lagrange Street- South on Lagrange about one mile. July 13-15- 8th Annual African American Festival. The Festival begins with gospel, live entertainment, vendors, rides, parades, and commences with a city-wide praise and worship gospel celebration. July 21- Dragon Boat Festival. Where in Northwest Ohio can you find children's activities, live entertainment, festival food and competitive boat races without paying admission? Look no further than International Park in Downtown Toledo on Saturday, July 21st for the 11th Annual Partners In Education Dragon Boat Festival. Over 40 teams are scheduled to participate in the festival this year. The 40-foot- long Hong Kong-style Dragon Boats complete with dragon head and tail will be racing up and down the Maumee River from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Each team is comprised of twenty crew members, plus a steersman and a drummer. Each team races a 500- meter course in four boat heats. Each team will participate in three races during the day, with first round times determining the second and championship round placement in races. Trophies will be awarded for various categories such as industries ranging from media to banking. Special awards such as most organized, most team spirit, and best tent as also given out. Location will be at International Park, East Bank of the Maumee River (across the river from downtown Toledo), Toledo, Oh 43605. Hours are from 8 am till 5:30 pm. July 29- Art on the Mall. Located in Centennial Mall in the center of The University of Toledo's main campus. Featuring the area's best artists, this festival is free to attend.
Art on the Mall, now in its 20th year, has become one of the area’s best-known and most eagerly anticipated annual art events. With regular attendance numbering upwards of 12,000, Art on the Mall draws art lovers, families, music fans and summertime browsers looking for an afternoon that’s enjoyable, affordable and even educational.
